Entrevista a Andrei Kirilenko

Andrei Kirilenko: "Quiero terminar mi carrera en el equipo que he crecido"

                        Andrei Kirilenko es un jugador de baloncesto profesional de nacionalidad rusa, y que actualmente milita en las filas del CSKA Moscú, en la posición de Alero/ala pivot. Es conocido por su apodo "AK-47", que hace referencia a sus iniciales y al numero que suele vestir. A sus 34 años, tiene una amplia experiencia en la NBA, habiendo jugado para Utah, Minnesota y Brooklyn, en los 14 años que pasó jugando en la NBA.
                         Después de haber pasado casi una temporada entera sin jugar en Philadelphia, Andrei firmó con el CSKA hace un par de semanas.
                          Con la selección rusa, ganó la medalla de oro en el Eurobasket de 2007, siendo el MVP del torneo, y en 2011, ganó la medalla de bronce del Eurobasket.
                           Tuvimos la oportunidad de entrevistarle tras el partido que jugó contra el Laboral Kutxa Baskonia. En esta entrevista, Andrei nos habla sobre su experiencia NBA y las razones de su vuelta a Europa entre otras cosas.

                            A la hora de jugar... ¿Tienes algún jugador como referente?
             
                             - Cuando estaba jugando era la época de Michael Jordan, y obviamente todos se fijaban en el como ejemplo a seguir. Pero para los rusos, tenemos los dos Belov-s, Aleksandr y Sergei, que han sido muy grandes en Rusia y todo un ejemplo para nosotros.

                            ¿Porqué decidiste volver al CSKA?

                             - Bueno, estoy ya casi en el final de mi carrera y quiero terminarla en el equipo en el que he crecido.

                              Has jugado para Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves y Brooklyn Nets. ¿En cual de esos equipos te has sentido mejor?

                               - En Utah por supuesto. Creo que pasé un muy buen tiempo jugando allí. Tuvimos una muy buena ronda y cambio generacional, y después de haber jugado en Europa... Fue una gran experiencia.

                              ¿Cuales fueron las razones que te hicieron tomar la decisión de volver a Europa?

                               - Como te he dicho antes, llevo unos 20 años de carrera como profesional, y bueno creo que ya es suficiente (risas).

                               ¿Cual dirías que ha sido tu mejor momento como profesional?

                                - Bueno... el Eurobasket de 2007, los juegos Olímpicos de 2012... Esos dos torneos fueron muy buenos para mí.

                                ¿Disfrutaste jugando con Ricky Rubio?

                                 - Por supuesto. Ricky es un gran base, a esos chicos los llamamos "esos que tienen ojos en la espalda" (risas). Pasé muy buenos momentos junto a el, y por supuesto que le deseo todo lo mejor en la NBA, por muchos años, y espero que tenga grandes logros en su carrera.

                                ¿Quien crees que ganará la NBA esta temporada?

                                 - Va a ser un campeonato muy interesante, porque mas o menos 8 equipos del Oeste pueden ganarlo, y por supuesto, Cleveland, Chicago, Washington... No sé si Atlanta, aunque me gusta su estilo no sé si podrán ganar el título, aún son un poco jóvenes.

                                 ¿Hay una gran diferencia entre la NBA y la Liga Rusa?

                                  - Bueno, hay una gran diferencia porque la NBA es más como un negocio en todas las infraestructuras del equipo, pero en Europa diría que es mas interesante para los fans en cierto modo. No es ni mejor ni peor, es simplemente diferente para los aficionados porque hay un gran apoyo para el equipo, y por supuesto los fans están locos por su equipo.

                                  ¿Crees que este CSKA tendría opciones de ganar a un equipo NBA?

                                    - Bueno, ya han ganado a algún equipo NBA, asique diría que si que tendríamos la oportunidad de ganar a alguno.

                                  ¿Que te gustaría ganar este año?

                                   - Bueno, para el CSKA en los últimos 10 años hay solo una cosa que se quiere conseguir, y no hablo ya de la Final Four, hablo de ser el número uno. Y esto es muy duro, y todo el equipo tiene que vivir con la presión y con responsabilidad, pero al mismo tiempo, es un gran objetivo.

Interview with Andrei Kirilenko

Andrei Kirilenko: "I want to finish my career in the team I´ve been raised"

                        Andrei Kirilenko is a 34 years old Russian professional basketball player who currently plays for CSKA Moscow in the fordward position. Kirilenko is nicknamed "AK-47", in reference to his initials and the jersey number he uses. He has played for Utah, Minnesota and Brooklyn, in the 14 years he has spent playing in the NBA. 
                         After having spent almost a hole season without playing in Philadelphia, Andrei signed with the CSKA this season. 
                          With the Russian national team, he won  the following titles: Eurobasket in 2007 (and the MVP of the tournament), and in 2011, he won his second Eurobasket medal, but this time the bronze one. 
                           We had the chance of interviewing him after the game he played against Laboral Kutxa Baskonia. In this interview, Andrei speaks about his experience in the NBA and the reasons that made him come back to Europe among other things.

                            Do you have any reference or idol when it comes to playing?

               

                             - When I was playing there was Michael Jordans time, and of course everybody was looking up to him. But for the Russians, we have the two Belov´s, Aleksandr and Sergei, you know, they´ve been very big in Russia so they have been the Russian examples for us.

                           Why did you choose to came back to CSKA?

                            -  Well, I´m finishing my career and you know, I want to finish it in the team which I´ve been raised.

                            You have played for Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets. In which of those three teams did you feel better?

                             - In Utah of course. I think that I expent a great time playing in there we had a great great round and a change of generation, and after playing in Europe... It was a great experience.

                             What reasons made you take the desition of returning to Europe?

                             - As I just told you before, I have had about 20 years of professional career, so should be enough (laughs).

                              Which would you say that has been your best professional moment?

                               - Well, the EuroBasket 2007, the Olympics 2012... Those two were great tournaments for me. 

                               Did you enjoy playing with Ricky Rubio?

                               - Of course. Ricky is a great point guard we call those guys "the one´s who have eyes on the back" (laughs). We had a great time and of course I wish him more of the best in the NBA for many many years and I hope he has great years in his career.

                               Who do you think that will be the winner of the NBA this season?

                                - It´s going to be very vey interesting the championship because about 8 teams from the west any of those teams can win it, and of course, Cleveland, Chicago, Washington... I don´t know if Atlanta, I like their style, but I don´t know if they are gonna win the title, they are still a little bit young. 

                               Is there a big difference between the NBA and the Russian league?

                                - Well, there is a big difference, because the NBA is more like a business, in all the infrastructures of the team, but in Europe I would say that is more interesting for the fans at one point. Is not better, but it´s just a different way for the fans because there is a lot of team support, and of course all the fans are very crazy for their own teams. 

                               Do you think that this CSK would have the chance of beating an NBA team? 

                                - Well, they already beated some NBA team, so I´d say that of course we would have the chance.

                                What would you like to win this year?

                                - Well for CSKA for the last 10 years, there is only one thing we want to achive, and is not even the Final Four, it´s only be the number one. And this is tough and the whole team has to live under pressure and under responsibility, but at the same time is a great goal.

Aaron Jackson: "Mis años como MIB han sido dos de los mejores años de mi vida"

                               Aaron Jackson es un jugador de baloncesto profesional de nacionalidad estadounidense, que actualmente milita en las filas del CSKA de Moscú y juega en la posición de base. Firmó con el CSKA tras su brillante paso por el Bilbao Basket de la ACB.
                                En esta entrevista que fue realizada tras el partido que jugó ante el Laboral Kutxa Baskonia, Aaron nos habla sobre sus años en Bilbao y sobre su experiencia en Rusia entre otras cosas.


                                  ¿Hay alguna posibilidad de ver a Aaron Jackson jugando para el Bilbao Basket de nuevo?

                                   - Ooh... No lo sé... Creo que es probable, porque aún tengo muchos amigos ahí, y sigo teniendo una buena relación con el club, asique diría que sí que hay alguna posibilidad.

                                   ¿Como describirías tu relación con Kostas?

                                   - Ooh, Kostas (sonrisa) el es... "Mi hermano". Hablamos todos los días y es un muy buen amigo. Creo que vamos a ser amigos para siempre.

                                   ¿Quien dirías que ha sido el mejor jugador con el que has jugado?

                                   - ¿El mejor jugador con el que he jugado? Humm... Raul Lopez, en mi segundo año en Bilbao.

                                    ¿Que opinas de Bilbao?

                                   - Bilbao es mi segunda casa. Es un sitio increíble, tengo muchos amigos ahí y aun lo echo de menos.

                                     ¿Como describirías tus años como MIB (Men In Black)?

                                  - Fácilmente habrán sido dos de los mejores años de mi vida. Me lo pasé muy bien y crecí como jugador y como persona allí.

                                      ¿Estas contento en Moscú?

                                  - Sí, estoy contento en Moscú. Es un sitio donde hace frio, pero esta bien. Tenemos un gran equipo y una gran organización, asique muy contento.

                                       Las circunstancias no te dejaron despedirte de la afición del Bilbao Basket. ¿Que les dirías ahora?

                                 - No creo que necesitase decir adiós porque el hacer eso significaría que no volvería a verlos. Aún suelo estar en contacto con muchos amigos que tengo allí por las redes sociales.

                                       ¿Que te gustaría ganar con el CSKA este año?

                                 - Me gustaría ganar todo, pero en especial mas tarde en la Final Four. Es algo que de verdad queremos ganar.

                                        Hablando ya de la NBA, ¿Que equipo crees que la ganará esta temporada?

                                 - ¿Quien ganará la NBA?... No lo sé... Pero creo que voy a ir con Portland Trail Blazers.

                                         ¿Si tuvieras la oportunidad de jugar con un jugador, con quien sería?

                                  - Con Derrick Rose, sin duda.

Interview with Aaron Jackson

Aaron Jackson: "My years as a MIB were two of the best years of my life"

                               Aaron Jackson is an American professional basketball player, who currently plays for CSKA Moscow in the point guard position. He signed for CSKA after 2 years in Bilbao.
                               We had the chance of interviewing him after the game he payed in Vitoria against Laboral Kutxa Baskonia.
                               In this interview, Aaron speaks us about his years in Bilbao, and about his experience in Russia
.
       
                                Is there any chance of seing Aaron Jackson playing for Bilbao Basket again?
                           
                                - Ooh... I don´t know... I think there is a good possibility you know, I still have a lot of friends and I still have a good relationship with the team so yes, there is a chance.

                                How would you describe your relationship with Kostas?

                                 - Ooh, Kostas (smile) he is... "Mi hermano" we talk every day he is a very good friend of mine, and I think we will be friends for ever.

                                Who would you say that is the best player you have played with?

                                 - The best player I´ve played with? Huum Raul Lopez, in my second year in Bilbao.

                                What do you think about Bilbao?

                                 - Bilbao is my second home. It´s a great place, I have many friends there and I still miss it.

                                How would you describe your years as a MIB (Men In Black)?

                                 - Two of the best years in my life easily, I had a lot of fun and I grew as a player and as a person there.

                                 Are you happy in Moscow?

                                 - Yes, I´m happy in Moscow, It´s a cold place but is a good place, you have a good team and good organisation.

                                The circumstances didn´t let you say goodbye to the fans of Bilbao Basket, what would you tell them?

                                 - I don´t think I have to say goodbye because you know, saying goodbye is for ever and I still stay in contact with many friends I have there as much as possible via social media.

                                What would you like to win this year with CSK?

                                 - I would like to win everything in special later on the final four. It´s something that we really want to win.

                                Speaking about the NBA, which team do you think that will be the winner of this season?

                                 - Who would be the winner of the NBA... I don´t know... I think that I´m going to go with the Portland Trail Blazers.

                                If you had the chance of playing with one player, who would it be?

                                  - Derrick Rose for sure.

                               

Entrevista a Nathan Jawai

Nathan Jawai: "Es parte de ser profesional, a veces te quieren y otras veces no te quieren"

                           Nathan Jawai es un jugador de baloncesto australiano, que mide 2.08 m y juega en la posición de pivot para el Morabanc Andorra de la ACB. Es el segundo equipo de dicha liga para el que juega, tras su paso por el Barça.

                            Nathan, nos contestó a estas preguntas tras el partido que su equipo (el Morabanc Andorra) jugó contra el Bilbao Basket. Jawai, nos habla sobre el FC Barcelona y sobre Andorra entre otros temas.



                          ¿Crees que el Barça te trató bien tras tu lesión?

                            - Bueno, es un equipo muy profesional. Me gusta mucho el entrenador; es uno de mis favoritos. Al final esto es profesional y algunos equipos te quieren, y otros no, asique no tengo nada en su contra. Esto es parte de ser profesional, a veces no te quieren en sitios que tu quieres estar, y tienes que seguir a delante. El Barça fue muy profesional en todo momento.


                           ¿Por qué Andorra?

                            - Andorra es un buen sitio, el entrenador, el equipo en general mostró mucho interés en contratarme, y bueno... está cerca de Barcelona, y mi novia vive ahí (risas) asique les elegí. Además, me dijeron que tendrían paciencia conmigo y que me dejarían jugar para ayudarme a mejorar.

                            ¿Que opinas de la ACB?

                             - Oh (risas) es una de mis favoritas, a parte de la NBA. Creo que la ACB y la Euro Liga son muy buenas.

                           
                             Ya que has jugado en la NBA... ¿Quien crees que ganará la competición esta temporada?

                             - Buena pregunta... Bueno... Me gusta Golden State asique me gustaría que la ganasen ellos (risas).

Interview with Nathan Jawai

Nathan Jawai: "Is a part of being professional, sometimes they want you, and sometimes they don´t want you"

                        Nathan Jawai, is an Australian basketball player who is playing for Morabanc Andorra, of the liga ACB. He is 2.08 m and he plays at the center and power fordward positions. Is the second spanish league team he plays in, after FC Barcelona.

                         This interview was made after the game that his team played against Bilbao Basket. Nathan, talks us about his experience in FCB and about Andorra among other topics.




                       Do you think that Barça behaved good with you after your injury?

                            - Well, is a very professional team, I like the coach, the coach is one of my favourites, I mean, it´s professional you know, some teams want you, and some teams don´t want you, so I don´t have anything against them, this is a part of being professional, sometimes they don´t want you to stay in places you want to stay, and you have to move on so no, Barça has been great, very professional in everything.

                       Why did you chose Andorra?

                             - Andorra is good you know, the coach showed a lot of interest, they are close to Barcelona and my girlfriend is from down there (laughs) so I chose them, plus they told me that they will be patient, letting me play and that they would  help me develop.

                       What do you think about this league, the ACB?

                              - Oh (laughs) it´s one of my favourites, appart from the NBA. I think that the spanish league and the Euro league are great.

                       As you have played in the NBA... Who do you think that will be the winner this year?

                              - A hard question... I like Golden State, so I would like them to win (laughs)

Laboral Kutxa Baskonia-Emporio Armani Milano

UN PRIMER CUARTO DE ENSUEÑO, DA ALAS AL BASKONIA.

                                 El partido de la tarde del jueves, comenzó con un gran Baskonia que salió enchufadísimo al partido y sin dar tregua a los Italianos. Liderado por Davis Bertans, el Baskonia arrolló a sus rivales sin darles cancha, llegando a ponerse 10-2 en pocos minutos. La entrada a pista de Daniel Hackett, despertó al Emporio Armani Milano, pero la alegría les duraría poco a los visitantes. Bertans, seguía con su monologo, llegando a anotar 16 puntos en los escasos 6 minutos que permaneció en el campo. Se llegó al final del primer cuarto con un marcador de 34-18, que consolidaba la gran semana del Baskonia, tras su increíble triunfo ante el Barça el fin de semana.
                                 El Milán comenzó con ímpetu el segundo cuarto, proponiendo un juego muy físico. No era el día de los italianos; cuando estaban logrando reducir distancias, el Baskonia despertó y con un triplazo de James sobre la bocina, mandó el partido al descanso 61-42.
                                  Tras el descanso, ambos equipos saltaron a la pista con las energías renovadas. Fue un cuarto donde reinó la igualdad, y a pesar del duro juego de los visitantes, el Baskonia voló en la cancha y logró escaparse 81-61 al final del tercer cuarto.
                                  El cuarto y último cuarto, valió para darle minutos a los menos habituales, como es el caso de Ilimane Diop, que brilló en los minutos que estuvo sobre la cancha. El Baskonia estaba de dulce llegando a un marcador estratosférico (94-68) a falta de 5 minutos por jugarse. El partido finalizaría con un 102-83, que da un gran impulso a la moral de los jugadores del Laboral Kutxa, que no estaban teniendo una buena temporada hasta el momento.
